Organize a cleanup day at a local park. Fishing line, bait cans, hooks, and other trash that has been carelessly discarded can mean a slow, painful death for animals who become entangled. You'll need heavy, protective gloves (those fishing hooks are sharp!), sturdy trash bags, and scissors or a knife to cut line. (Before you discard any fishing line you find, cut it into small, one- or two- inch pieces to keep it from being a threat out at the landfill.) The animals and the parkgoers will love you for it!

Be a Pro-Fish Activist

Start planning your own pro-fish campaign to help stop the suffering of fish and other aquatic animals.

With your help, we can make a difference for the animals. Our demonstrations at fishing tournaments, seafood shows, fishing piers, and outdoor expos have opened many eyes to the violent nature of fishing. We have also shown fishing from the animals' perspective at elementary schools and discussed with the kids the many fun and nonviolent things they can do outdoors.

The easiest things to do if you want to help fish are to stop eating them, don't go fishing, and encourage others to follow your lead. Switching to a vegetarian diet will save countless animals from suffering, and you will feel better as well!
